Weekend Retreat In-person: Yspertal, Austria
This is a weekend to slow down, deepen your Yoga practice and renew your energy. The focus will be on using Therapeutic Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Somatic movement to strengthen our immune systems and allow for deep rest. The beauty of the natural surroundings and delicious food will help support this time of relating inwards.
Each day will begin with a class combining pranayama (breath work), gentle and dynamic asana (flowing yoga) to help release physical tension and an exploration of stillness and meditation through Restorative Yoga.
Afternoon sessions focus on Restorative Yoga, Pranayama and understanding how to create a self-practice including mindful movement, somatics and meditation.
Outside of the yoga you can enjoy the swim in a nearby lake, horseback ride, hike the Ysperklamm and explore the local trails or simply relax in the garden. The food focuses on local organic produce and is one of the highlights of the weekend.

For the Teacher Training:
Teachers interested in earning CE credits have the option to study during the mid-day break to complete the Restorative Teacher Training. These study sessions are open to serious students that have experience with Restorative Yoga. Approval to join these sessions is by application.
A chance to truly rest in the beauty of nature with ample time to practice, study and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
This format offers you the chance to invite along a partner or friend to participate in the group classes, so you can share a weekend away or take the time for solitude.
Module 1: April 29 – May 2, 2021
Techniques for body and mind to rest are introduced alongside proper alignment for each pose we learn. You will gain the skills to offer your students ways to shift from stress to ease, and a clear understanding of the nervous system. You will leave the weekend knowing how to give people an experience of deep rest in a Restorative pose and the principles of Restorative yoga.
Module 2: June 10 – 13, 2021
Our focus will be on the practicalities of teaching Restorative yoga in both group and private settings. We will continue to practice and learn more poses, looking also at the anatomy of the body in each pose. We will discuss Ayurveda for sequencing a class, how to recognise body types and which poses work best for different people. This weekend is a time to delve deeper, giving teachers the confidence to teach Restorative poses with precision and empathy.
